Daily Intelligence, personalized.
Daily Intelligence is my morning brief, the one I built for myself, with the stuff I actually want to read and the stuff I want to learn.
AI and me made a plan of what I want to see every morning: some AI news, something worth a look from X or Reddit, a bit of theory on creativity or design, a cool project, a piece of something to study, a section on what it’s all about, and at the end - a little AI experiment to try.
I also asked it to turn the whole thing into cards and drop them into Slack, so I wake up and flip through it. You can also hang all kinds of fun on top: have it write in a different style every day, or design the cards differently each morning, it keeps a log.
Why I like it, three things:
First, sure, I could go and look it all up myself, every day. But every time that’s a small effort, and small efforts are the exhausting ones. Here it just arrives, no pressure, no piling up. Sweet.
Second, we know from a lot of research that learning works better if delivered in chunks, repeated, connected to what you already know. Five minutes a day is fine, as long as it’s every day, and as long as it’s something you’re actually into. I can steer it one inch at a time. Useful.
Third, it makes me build things, small, slightly silly things: an interior where the size of the window changes depending on how loud I talk. Normally you’d have to come up with it first, and there’s always something more useful to do than screaming at your computer. It adds interest to the day. Fun.
And I keep thinking this would be great for a team. A daily tuned thing that creates a space for everybody to react to, and adjusts to whatever is going on with the team right now, what’s happening on the current projects, or “this month we’re studying X.” Every other week you talk it through together. It’s like a book club without a book. Not your daily corporate communication.
P.S. Check out what GPT tried to do with the visual style: it tried “risograph-made, screen-printed artsy zine”. It’s not super compelling, to my taste, but why exactly.
